    THEMES

    BELVOIR HIGH SCHOOL, Bottesford, Nottinghamshire
    "Our Fine Four-Fendered Friend?"

Our story inspired by Chitty Chitty Bang Bang portrays the power of imagination as we follow four people in a new car that can fly! Their adventures encounter an evil childsnatcher and power-mad King and Queen. Together, using teamwork and dedication, can they escape? Or will this ending be far from truly scrumptious?

COLSTERWORTH CE PRIMARY SCHOOL, Grantham, Lincolnshire
"The Big Fight of the Black and the White"

Our whole school theme, Goodies and Baddies, allowed us to dip into the world of superheroes while filling our minds with the emotive language of Alfred Noyes's 'The Highwayman'. This was the inspiration for our dance showing the struggle between angelic goodness and the darkness of evil. Simple costumes and contrasting musical elements add to the drama of our performance.

EAST BRIDGFORD ST PETER'S C OF E SCHOOL, East Bridgford, Nottinghamshire
    "Noah's Ark"

The World has gone crazy and God decides to start again, sparing only Noah and his family who he tells to build an ark and fill with two of every kind of animal. The land is flooded, but the ark sails on until the doves discover land and a rainbow appears: a bright sign of hope for the future.

GONERBY HILL FOOT C OF E PRIMARY SCHOOL, Grantham, Lincolnshire
    "Sporting Relationships"

When you hear the word 'sport' you may think two teams competing against each other with one team being the overall winner. We want to show that sport can bring people together no matter what their differences and ability, uniting nations in such attitudes as fair play, sportsmanship and athleticism. Tonight let's celebrate all aspects of sporting relationships.

HUNTINGTOWER COMMUNITY PRIMARY SCHOOL, Grantham, Lincolnshire
    "Dreams"

A tower is a beacon of light. In Huntingtower we believe that we can all shine as lights in our community, each in our unique way. A flicker of light starts when we dream. The light shines brighter and brighter as we work, achieve and aim for our next goal until we get there. Finally our dream is realised!

KESTEVEN AND GRANTHAM GIRLS' SCHOOL, Grantham, Lincolnshire
    "1984"

Can two lovers hide themselves from the eye of Big Brother? Will they be able to withstand The Party or will they, like so many before them, be unable to resist? George Orwell's dystopian vision of the future focuses on the darker side of human nature and examines what we'll do to preserve our own existence.

NATIONAL C OF E JUNIOR SCHOOL, Grantham, Lincolnshire
    "Pandora's Box"

Has your curiosity ever got you into trouble? Ever been desperate to know a secret but ignored all warnings? The men of the world were content, free and without a care - which angered the gods! Pandora was created as a punishment but her curiosity opened the box, unleashing unimaginable evils... Fortunately, Hope was there as well... restoring peace and harmony.

    PRIORY RUSKIN ACADEMY, Grantham, Lincolnshire
    "Help is at hand"

The inspiration for our performance came from issues within the news. Our performance looks at war, physical abuse and child abuse and the affects it can have both emotionally and physically on everyone involved. We use the bars to represent being trapped and looking for help. The end of the performance shows that there are people who can help.

ROPSLEY CE PRIMARY SCHOOL, Ropsley, Lincolnshire
    "Unite with Ropsley"

We want to take you on a journey through dance. Our music and movements are expressing to you that it doesn't matter who you are, where you come from or what you look like, we are all the same underneath.

ST MARY'S CATHOLIC PRIMARY SCHOOL, Grantham, Lincolnshire
    "A Tribute to Bollywood"

At our school we are always keen to learn about other cultures. Our dance piece is a vibrant celebration of Bollywood dance. It's fun, rhythmic and colourful involving strong and graceful movements of the body. Sit back and enjoy this explosion of dance.

THE PRIORY ACADEMY LSST, Lincoln, Lincolnshire
    "Beautiful Nightmare"

In the silence of your room, in the darkness of your dreams nightmares lurk to play with your screams. Our dance takes you on a journey through a child's subconscious, dragging the audience into her deepest nightmares, only to be rescued by her sweet dreams. This is the ultimate battle of good versus evil. Who will triumph in the end?

THE PRIORY CITY OF LINCOLN ACADEMY, Lincoln, Lincolnshire
    "Lauren in Wonderland"

We join Lauren as she enters Wonderland. It's a magical place full of adventure, but as we follow her journey through the new world, she meets the Queen of Hearts who is renowned for her cruelty. Lauren and her guide must try to fit in to evade capture.

THE WEST GRANTHAM ACADEMY SCHOOLS, Grantham, Lincolnshire
    "The Lonely Clown"

The circus comes to town: all of the acts are happy and full of joy. However there is one lonely clown who does not want to join in: his friends try and persuade him to and show him the fun that he can have! When he joins his friends he is no longer a sad lonely clown, but is now a happy clown with lots of friends.
