    "The Phantom Fiddler of Fyrish"

      Alness, 1903, an ordinary washday for the women and children. Until the Phantom Fiddler of Fyrish appears and brings them under her spell and leads them up the hill, through the monument into another, sinister, world of dark fairies, zombies, killer clowns, skeletons, and wolves. The villagers are slaughtered one by one until only two are left; will they survive?

    "Don’t Lose The Human Touch"

      There is a struggle between modern and traditional society. Technology is beginning to take over the way people live, and this alone will bring its own challenges. As the story enfolds and technology appears to reign supreme, the weaknesses are exposed and exploited. Is everything lost or will our faith in technology be restored?

    "Secrets Behind The Screen"

      Today’s society revolves around social networking sites. Our story portrays a real life situation, of a girl who gets drawn into a relationship online with a mysterious character. When the opportunity arises to meet her cyber soul mate, she takes the chance, but when she faces the truth, it may not be what she was hoping for.

    "My Media Nightmare"

      Seeking the acceptance of different media outlets, our protagonist wakes up tempted by the media controller of a mainstream dystopian landscape, shown a world of conformity, false body-image and false representation. After the façade of the ‘mainstream’ the ‘social media’ asserts its dominance and she is taken into another world of sharing and freedom and information. But at what price..?

    "Love and Loss"

      In our performance we explore the emotions and themes of war, love and loss. This is symbolised by the white tissues being waved at loved ones as they risk their life for their country. Our performance includes the symbolic feature of the poppy from Flanders Fields to remember and respect those who have fought and are still fighting.

      The year is 3030 and the world is a very different place. Science, greed and a thirst for knowledge has had catastrophic consequences and pushed mother earth too far. An elite group of heroes are all that remain of the true human race. The world now seeks help from new beings to overcome the diseased ways of their past.

      This is the story of the Christmas truce that took place in December 1914 during World War 1. The combatants emerged from the trenches and created an unofficial truce and exchanged gifts demonstrating the brotherhood of man.

      So what is normal anyway?! Aliens in space school are set homework to find out how normal kids dance on earth. They are beamed down to discover that there’s no such thing as normal and they learn that respect for each other is key. Respect is infectious. Can we spread it wherever we go in the universe?

    "Alice v Wonderland"

      Our presentation is a dance drama entitled "Alice v Wonderland". The drama has a non linear structure where the action unfolds through shifts in time and place over seven short scenes. Alice is a patient in a psychiatric hospital whose slim grasp on reality transports her fractured mind to a strange land where there are no boundaries and no rules.

    "Be The Change You Wish To See In The World"

      Our school has committed to making a change in the world by raising money for "Mary's Meals", who provide kitchens for poorer schools such as Malawi. We have raised over £10,000 so far; our performance this year aims to continue this message and encourage others to "be the change they wish to see in the world".

    "Homecoming... The ones who didn't come home"

      2014...As she looks forward to the homecoming celebrations, she also looks back to 1914 and the start of The Great War. Looking at an old photograph of her Great Grandparents she imagines what 1914 meant to them...falling in love, going off to war and the tragedies that the war brought upon her family.

    "On the edge"

      A house overflowing with champagne and people; a blood soaked dagger and a murderer lurking in the darkness. Travel into a mansion where colourful characters capable of debauchery swarm. Detectives race against time as they journey through each room searching for clues before the clock strikes midnight and the murderer strikes again. Screams echo, paparazzi flash, detectives investigate...but whodunit?

      7 o'clock: A young man and woman find themselves stranded in the forest. An evil presence lurks there; ready to pounce. 8 o'clock; Unaware of the fate of their friends, another couple spend their first date at the fairground. 9 o'clock: Leaving the fairground, the couple head for home through the forest. What's the time Sawney Bean? Dinner Time

    BRECHIN HIGH SCHOOL
    "The White Rose"

      The White Rose was a Nazi protest group. The group became known for an anonymous leaflet and graffiti campaign. The group risked their lives to stand up for what they believed in. Today, the members of the White Rose are honoured in Germany amongst its greatest heroes, since they opposed the Third Reich in the face of almost certain death

    WEBSTER'S HIGH SCHOOL, Kirriemuir
    "Consequences"

      Drink driving is a major issue in the UK which causes around 230 deaths per year. Drink driving not only risks your own life, but also those of your passengers and other road users. Our performance will express this issue and demonstrate the consequences of our driver's bad decision making. You will see how her mistake literally haunts her.

    "Finding My Way Back Home"

      A group of school children leave for an important trip, but the bus driver has another idea up his sleeve. In the tangle of the jungle, two pupils are stranded. They find help in the most unlikely of places and meet some interesting characters along the way. This is the ultimate story of two brave warriors finding their way home.

      How could an African country of eight million people be plunged into a chaos of slaughter leaving a million dead? Now, twenty years later, how can widows, orphans and killers find the heart to recover and rebuild? Our story tells of a Hutu and a Tutsi who, despite their separate struggles, are able to forgive and unite as one.

    FORFAR ACADEMY
    "The Death of Awa - Hili!"

      White men came across the sea; they brought us pain and misery. They came with fight and guns in tow, told us you will have to go. They cared little about nature and less for the land. Now left with no place to go, we must make our stand. Join us and prepare for the death of Awa - Hili!

    "Paradise Lost"

      In the beginning, God created the Heavens and the Earth. He separated night from day and land from sea. He created trees and plants; birds and animals. He created mankind in his own image. He gave man paradise, and commanded him not to eat the forbidden fruit. But man was led into temptation and exposed the world to evil.

    "A Pirate Adventure"

      Our jaw dropping story of pirates, mermaids and fish is going to leasve you on the edge of your seat. In a storm the pirates go overboard, but there's a twist. They meet mermaids under the stormy waves; however a warning; some of our pirates are very eveil and will do anything to get their hands on treasure.

    "Out of the ashes"

      2014 marks the 100th anniversary of the start of World War One - the supposed war to end all wars. History has shown this was not the case. Will mankind learn any lessons from this bloodiest of conflicts? Will hope grow from the ashes of war?

      Prepare to be selected and face your fear, in a tournament which doesn't occur every year.
      With many challenges along the way, true to your morals you must stay.
      Deeper into the competition you must be aware, other competitors may need you care.

      Our performance tells the story of Alice who, after facing struggles at home, decides to run away. She falls into the downward spiral of life on the streets. Alice becomes torn between her family and the misleading wonders of the characters she encounters. Will she return to her family or live in wonderland forever?

      What happens when you're tool old for the thrill of video games? Bored of everyday life, mark succumbs to the peer pressure of his girlfriend. Falling into the world of drugs where everything is pixelated, he discovers the game of life. But we all know life isn't a game, and for Mark, he must fight for his one single life.

      Discrimination is an issue that is seen every day in society. We decided to combine three well known musicals - Cats, Wicked and Phantom of the Opera and use these to show that someone is always left out, and how sometimes in the end, it can all become too much. We hope you enjoy the performance.

      One bite and the sin will begin
      A twisted darker tale,
      Where the Queen wants to win.
      Watch Snow White meet the envious Queen, evil Huntswoman, cunning Prince, carefree dwarves and some friends along the way in the story of pride, wrath, gluttony, sloth, lust and greed. Will Snow White simply give in to sin?

      Welcome to Chamberlain, a seemingly perfect town. However, when it's suddenly infested with rats, a strange character comes to their rescue. The Mayor refuses to pay and the people are left devastated as the stranger captures the children and leads them to the murky mountain. The tale of The Pied Piper: will they forever regret going back on their word?

    "Thumbelina: A Story of Growing Up"

      Our performance highlights the difficulty teenagers face while finding their feet in the world. Through the fairytale "Thumbelina" we see bullying and peer pressure from not fitting in; despairing low self esteem; school and life stresses; and the societal sexual pressures placed upon us. Despite this, it shows that you will discover who you are; it just might not be easy.

      Back when times were different and white people thought they were superior to black people, there was a man whose death inspired a nation to play for their rights to become equal.
