    THEMES

BRIDGEMARY COMMUNITY SPORTS COLLEGE, Gosport, Hampshire
    "Memoirs of a Geisha"

We tell the story of Sayuri, a Japanese girl who is kidnapped and sold to a Geisha house as a servant. She then fulfils her dream, becoming the most famous Geisha in Japan. Hatsumomo, her evil step-sister seeks to destroy her whilst her heart is being torn between her duties and the love for the man she always adored.

    CHICHESTER COLLEGE, Chichester, West Sussex
    "Glutton For Punishment"

'Glutton For Punishment' brings to life Roahl Dahl's enduring story that follows one young boy's adventure into the weird and wonderful world of Willy Wonka. Charlie's enchanting and astonishing journey around a very special chocolate factory teaches him the consequences of greed, conceit, boorishness and gluttony as he discovers that only those with virtue and a good heart prosper.

    COSTESSEY HIGH SCHOOL, Norwich, Norfolk
    "The Universal Soldier"

      The universal solider leaves,
The family stays behind to grieve.
      His life at stake,
      For his country's sake
He stays strong for everything he believes.
Letters home bring news of death
Dare we think, of his last breath
      His life was at stake,
      For his country's sake
Brave for the future, and what will be achieved.

DURRINGTON HIGH SCHOOL, Worthing, West Sussex
    "The Day The Clowns Cried"

Coulrophobia - the fear of clowns. An irrational fear? Not for the people of Hartford who watched as the hypnotised audience perished in a mix of fear and flames. A single girl in a white dress found buried under bodies and the fiery ruins, represents the innocence of these who died. Perhaps fear of clowns is justified - especially for Little Miss.

HAMBLE COMMUNITY SPORTS COLLEGE, Southampton, Hampshire
    "Cerebral Chaos"

The brain is a complex organ in any human being, but a teenager's brain is more complex than most. A teenager has to make decisions about image, relationships and choices often influenced by unpredictable hormones. Hormones that pull them in opposing directions - like a game of spin the bottle, what do they have in store for you next?

    THE HOLLYFIELD SCHOOL, Surbiton, Surrey
    "Time Machine"

It's 2020 and a group of mad scientists are working on their latest project, a time machine. After years of tweaking and altering their invention, they finally think they've cracked it. As they travel through time, experiencing the best of the decades, will they return as normal or will they get stuck in time?!

KINGS LANGLEY SCHOOL, Kings Langley, Hertfordshire
    "The Longest Night"

'When you go home, tell them of us and say for your tomorrow, we gave our today'. 1940's Britain fought for our liberty and freedom, yet now, we fight amongst ourselves. Josh is about to go on the adventure of a lifetime, reliving the past to shape his future. If you saw their yesterday, would you change your today?

    MAYVILLE HIGH SCHOOL, Southsea, Hampshire
    "The Test of Time"

ALL THE WORLD'S A STAGE AND MEN AND WOMEN MERELY PLAYERS. Famous words written by a famous playwright 'SHAKESPEARE'. His work is in constant use and review all over the world, versatile and timeless. We seek to bring to you a taster of his diversity, history, comedy and tragedy. If music be the food of love, PLAY ON.................

MEDINA HIGH SCHOOL, Newport, Isle of Wight
    "Am I Perfect?"

Our piece is about how the media can seriously affect the way we perceive ourselves, i.e. image, weight, looks etc. Is it really important to look like the model on the front cover of a magazine? What happens if we don't if we never reach those expectations?

PARK COMMUNITY SCHOOL, Leigh Park, Hampshire
    "Spellbound"

Mirror, Mirror on the wall, in to which story will she fall? Snow White's lost, can't find her way home. With kindness and care I'm sure she'll be shown. Sometimes in life we lose our way. Take the wrong path, wander astray. The wrong type of friend our judgement impairs, the wrong type of life can lead to despair.

    PORTSMOUTH COLLEGE, Portsmouth, Hampshire
    "Stand by"

      Television
is the curse of the nation
      Feeding ignorance
      from station to station
      Killing the art of conversation
      And consuming the brains
      of today's generation

    WINTON SCHOOL, Andover, Hampshire
"The sweetest sweet is not to eat"

Someone once said 'Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're going to get'. To wake each day to your life's dream of wealth in abundance, and share it with the world: A rare fairytale, or so it might sound. But where are life's real riches to be found? Money or love? You decide...
